There are literally millions of women out there who suffer with fibroids and most of them have no idea that they are preventable and even treatable without the need for surgery.
It is estimated that by the age of 50, 70% of women have fibroids.
Symptoms of fibroids
- Frequent urination
- Pain during intercourse
- Heavy or prolonged menstrual periods
- Abnormal bleeding between your periods
- Pelvic pain
- Infertility and miscarriages
In fact, this study showed that women with uterine fibroids suffer more frequently from various gynecological pain symptoms.
Women who are approaching menopause are believed to be at the greatest risk of having fibroids because of their prolonged exposure to high estrogen levels.
I talk about fibroids in this video:
What are fibroids?
Fibroids are tumors that can grow in the female reproductive system and they can range in size from being as small as a pea to the size of a small softball.
Because they normally develop within the uterine wall, they are also referred to uterine fibroids.
The question is why do women get them?
At present, there is no clear understanding with regards to mainstream medical opinion on what actually causes these tumours to develop.
From my own personal experience of working with women with hormonal imbalances for 6 years, I know that diet and lifestyle has a lot to do with it.
So how do you know for sure that you have fibroids?
Apart from having a physical examination by a gynecologist, there are a number of methods that the mainstream medical approach uses and which include:
- The use of x-rays
- Magnetic resonance imaging (known as an MRI scan)
- Ultrasound test
- Endometrial biopsy
Now what are the usual options when it comes to dealing with fibroids?
- Have surgery to remove your actual fibroids or remove your uterus – known as full or partial hysterectomy.
- Take pain medicines and hormones … for life!
The cost of having a laparoscopic hysterectomy for example is about $10,000-20,000. In fact, over 200,000 hysterectomies are carried out every year for uterine fibroids.
So as you can see, huge numbers of women have surgery to remove their fibroids and are completely unaware that eating a healthy diet and leading a healthy lifestyle can help them prevent and treat fibroids naturally.
Natural fibroids treatment
What kind of diet has the power to help prevent and overcome this serious health problem, which blights the lives of so many women in the world today?
A plant-based, vegan diet that includes plenty of raw foods and is high in carbohydrates.
You’ll need to adopt a a diet that will exclude the foods that can cause hormonal imbalances, including food additives, processed salt, sugar and flours, as well as oils and unhealthy animal products that can wreak havoc with the health of your body.
Whole plant foods and a vegan diet is great for maintaining a healthy balance of your body and helping you regulate your weight.
An imbalance with omega 3 and 6 results in Inflammation in the body and can then lead to hormonal imbalances and disease.
Eating a plant-based, vegan diet is ideal for maintaining balanced hormone levels because your friendly gut bacteria which are involved with metabolising and removing excess hormones rely on these kinds of foods.
Some food additives are known to have estrogen-like effects in the human body. Animal meats and dairy contain animal hormones and even antibiotics.
In fact, anywhere from 60-80% percent of estrogens in the typical western diet come from milk and other dairy products, which then starts to affect your hormones.
