Leaky Gut And Candida – How To Rebuild Your Gut Health Naturally

Candida overgrowth and leaky gut, are two common gut disorders which if left untreated can cause significant health problems.

About 70 million Americans suffer from some sort of digestive issue every single day with leaky gut and Candida overgrowths being two common examples.

The large majority of people that we work with have some kind of health issue going on with their gut.

For example, they might suffer from excessive gas, bloating, constipation, skin problems like eczema or psoriasis, fatigue, headaches – the list goes on and on.

Gut health is central to your hormonal and overall health, so it’s vitally important to deal with gut issues when they arise and not ignore them.

What is a leaky gut?

A leaky gut or increased intestinal permeability is when the lining of your gut does not work properly and instead starts allowing partially digested food, bacteria and other pathogens into your bloodstream.

This then causes your body to attack these unwanted intruders and causes inflammation.

This can then lead to many health issues that include:

– Headaches and migraines,
– Acne,
– Psoriasis (2)
– Chronic fatigue
– Food allergies (3)
– Lowered immunity
– Irritable bowel syndrome and Inflammatory bowel disease (4)
– Auto immune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and many more. (5, 6)

In fact, a leaky gut has actually been called a “danger signal for autoimmune disease“. (7)

Now, candida is a fungus that lives both on and inside our bodies naturally, but the problem with this fungus happens when we experience an overgrowth of it.

For example, you may have experienced a very stressful period in your life and this affected the balance of healthy bacteria in your gut and your immune system to a point where you began to suffer with an overgrowth of Candida.

This overgrowth of Candida can then result in not only a leaky gut, but also:

– Fatigue
– Bloating, constipation, diarrhea
– Lack of mental clarity and focus, so brain fog
– Mood swings, anxiety and depression
– Skin and nail fungal infections
– Vaginal infections and UTI’s
– Autoimmune diseases
– So having an overgrowth of Candida in your gut can not only cause a leaky gut, but also other health problems.

What can you do about a leaky gut and a Candida overgrowth?

Well, first off, you need to get your immune system working properly again and this includes restoring your gut bacteria so all your friendly gut bacteria are back in balance and thriving again.
