Switching To A Vegan Diet: What We Wish We Knew 12 Years Ago

Back in early 2009, we decided to embark on a vegan diet.

Little did we know at the time what a huge step we were taking in terms of our health and indeed our whole life going forward from that moment.

We had read about vegan diet benefits, including vegan diet weight loss, and wanted to do it for both health and ethical reasons.

Veganism wasn’t anywhere near as popular back then as it is now.

The kinds of vegan diet recipes we came across were very often full of fat, including oils and at the time we thought this was all super healthy as they were salt-free, sugar-free, gluten-free, additive-free, etc.

But with Yulia’s health issues – including Candida, adrenal fatigue, Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, PCOS and other challenges, we knew we had more work to do.

We started to question about what to eat on a vegan diet and if there were any vegan diet benefits then we were not seeing any of them ourselves?

There are so many ways of eating a vegan diet like high carb, whole foods, vegan fast foods, the vegan keto diet, or vegan low carb diet, raw vegan, high raw vegan.

Thankfully, this is when we came across the raw vegan diet and the one that is low in fat and high in whole food carbs.

From that moment on our world change forever.

Yulia’s health began improving very quickly, dramatically in fact and we soon found ourselves reaching new levels of health we had never experienced before in our lives.

To say we were hugely excited by our newfound diet and levels of health would be correct.

But in hindsight, there were a number of things which if we had known about them beforehand, would have made our journey following a vegan diet much, much easier.

So in this video today we wanted to talk about the things we wish we had known before going vegan 12 years ago – and the vegan diet mistake you’ll want to avoid.
